Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Partner Mark A. Spognardi, Milwaukee Partner Charles W. Pautsch, and Fort Lauderdale Partner Lori Adelson  participated in the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association (“NATERA”) 2012 Conference, which took place in Tampa, Florida on October 21 – 23. As program chair, Mr. Spognardi was responsible for organizing this year’s conference, which featured speakers and panelists from leading law firms and consulting agencies in the country, discussing answers to logistics and trucking problems in the industry. There were approximately 70 attendees.

Mr. Spognardi moderated a panel discussion about changes to the National Labor Relations Board, titled “Stacking the Deck at the NLRB in Favor of Big Labor: “Quickie” Elections, Gerrymandered Bargaining Units, Restrictions on Employer Communications, Re-Run Elections and “Persuader Activity” Regulations. Mr. Pautsch’s talk, titled “Changing World of Labor Relations, A Wisconsin Perspective,” featured a discussion on the worldwide economic crisis, and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s reaction to it, in the realm of collective bargaining.
